30th Thing

An important "lesson" learned from Learning 2.0 would be an appreciation for the newer technologies that are available online. The introduction to these technologies has been beneficial in that it opened a door that I might not otherwise have opened. Or at the very least, I would not have opened it with the same eye for detail that will help me use them in the workplace.
We were asked to engage in our own learning discoveries which, along with the incentive, made it an appealing challenge for us. The extra time at the end helped motivate the bloggers to continue until they had finished.
The only thing I would do differently is to clarify the initial instructions to avoid confusion. Emails from different individuals actually made the instructions more confusing.

My Learning 2.0 Experience

If learning is defined as "acquiring a new skill" then I would say that my experience with Learning 2.0 @ the Beach was a success! The list of things I "learned" about include:
blogs, IMs, wikis, MySpace, tagging and folksonomy, del.icio.us, rss feeds, flickr, podcasts, generators and much, much more.
The "things" I'll will probably use the most are blogs, readers, flickr, podcasts and generators.
Learning 2.0 as it relates to the library has given me a much broader view of the current technologies that we have available to us at very little cost. The only "real" costs will be the time and effort it takes to become familiar with them.
I visited several blog sites at Learning 2.0 and noted the great variety of styles and layouts. I was impressed with many of them and would like to express my admiration for their personalized blogs.
I liked the blogs that contained pictures and cartoons the best. Given more time, I would liked to have "perfected" my blog a little more.

Rollyo

Rollyo
Rollyo allows the online user to customize searches by providing a place to put together a personal search engine.
Rollyo searches the latest news articles and blog posts giving you up-to-the-minute news sources. It also has other features that I would probably use if I continue to use Rollyo.
One of the best features is the ability to switch to an entire web search is your search engines aren't turning up the information you need.

LibraryThing

LibraryThing is a very easy way to catalog your personal library and connect with other people who share similiar reading interests.
I created my own library and join two groups or clubs just to get started. When I have more time I'd like to write some reviews and read reviews of books that I might want to read.
LibraryThing is useful as a tool and as a social contact with like-minded readers.

Generators

Generators are a great way to add interest and variety to your blogs without a lot of bother. It was fun to explore each of the generators provided for us on the Learning 2.0 site. I'd like to go back and play around with the Warholizer I thought it was very interesing.
